Chad C. Jensen, CRPC®
Wealth Advisor
At an early age, Chad Jensen, the founder of Cornerstone Wealth Management, discovered he had a keen interest in the stock market and how money works. Chad grew up in a hard-working, middle-class, single-parent home in St. George, Utah. He learned quickly the importance of managing money and the importance of an unbridled work ethic. Chad's first job at age 10 was washing UPS trucks. He later started a woodworking business while in school to help save up for a truck and his college education. After graduating high school, Chad pursued a degree in finance. He was accepted to one of the top business schools in the country, the Marriott of School of Business at Brigham Young University. He worked during college to pay for his education and was fortunate to receive scholarships, leaving him debt-free upon graduation.
In 2004, Chad was recruited to work for Merrill Lynch in Southern California, where he began his career managing wealth for high-net-worth families, corporations and charities. During the exhaustive interview process at Merrill Lynch, he was told that over 90 percent of the trainees fail out of the industry within two years. He was committed to not be part of that 90%. Chad quickly became a Certified Financial Manager and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor while at Merrill Lynch. After graduating early from the training program and working at Merrill Lynch for a number of years, he came to the conclusion that in order to reduce the conflicts of interest and best serve his clients, he needed to be independent of the wire house/brokerage world. He also longed to be closer to family and decided it was time to come home to the red rock country of Southern Utah where he founded Cornerstone Wealth Management. Chad has continued his relationships on the coast and throughout the country, while developing relationships here in Sunny St. George in the communities of SunRiver, Entrada and Stone Cliff, to name a few.
Today, Chad loves being an independent wealth advisor helping individuals with comprehensive retirement and estate planning as well as corporate 401(K) and defined benefit planning. Because of his background in helping sophisticated high-net-worth individuals, Chad has helped many families pursue their financial goals. Chad holds his Series 7 and 24 through LPL Financial and his Series 66 through Western Wealth Management as well as his Life and Long Term Care insurance license, which allows him to offer complete and honest advice in regards to all available investments for his clients. He has found that the recipe to success is always do what is right for his clients, and to never stop learning and working. Chad lives in Santa Clara, Utah and is happily married to his wife Brooke of 22 years. They have six kids, their eldest is going to college and their youngest is in 1st grade. When Chad isn't in the office, he is probably on the ball field coaching one of his kids' teams, at a dance performance, or even a piano recital. The greatest accomplishment in his life is his wonderful family. Chad feels very blessed to live in such an amazing community with such a fun family. He spends most of his free time outdoors camping, hunting, at sporting events, at the beach, or at Lake Powell. He is also heavily involved in the Boy Scouts of America and enjoys helping boys earn their Eagle Scout Award, just as he did.
